Weekly Wrap Up May 5, 2024

Hola from our last day in South Padre Island! We started the trek back to MN this week. Sniff sniff.

I attempted to kiteboard last night, but there was no wind. Today was our last walk on the beach, gym for rowing and lifting, car wash, and cramming everything into the last crevasse in Red Randy - including the 100 lb Inch DB I brought down, 7 kites, 1 wing, 3 foils and 6 boards. 😳

If you're in Austin and want to hang out for a later breakfast tomorrow (Monday), email me here or text me since we will be there briefly!

Here is what went down this week

Gym Tune of the Week: Sepultura Roots Bloody Roots Live at Texas '96

The first time I heard this album, I was the Loud Rock Music Director at the radio station WMTU. I was blown away at how it could be so heavy yet very distinctive in its sound. Amazing! This is the live version.

Much love,
Dr Mike

Yesterday, out of the clear blue, Jen hits me with a question about our Gonzo Grip Course: “Is this course only for the iron-handed gladiators of grip sport, or can us mere mortals also squeeze some juice out of it?” she asks. Excellent dig, Jen! Here’s the twisted truth: Adam and I have tangled with the titans of grip till our knuckles turned white—Adam usually leaves the competition in the dust, while I just scrape by... ...but no, this Gonzo Grip course isn’t carved out just for the...

Buckle up, my fitness freaks and fervent followers as I have a very important question for you? How’s your training sprinting along? Seriously, I would love to know, so hit me back via replying here. I've been cooped up working on 2 books so it will be a nice break to hear from ya! As some of you might recall, amidst the psychedelic swirl of goals and gainZ, my personal quest has been to hoist the monstrous 175 lb Thomas Inch DB replica, ideally by the end of this year. I've been training...

Crazy week as I just got off a call with a bunch of fitness professionals which was amazing! While I love the physiology side and doing whatever I can to help education other trainers/ professionals... ....the psychology and emotional side is also super import, which is why I wanted to share this message from my dear friend Kristina Hoyer. You may remember her from an early podcast entitled "Managing High Stress Situations and Growing from Trauma" We got to see here and hang out after the...
